Schrödinger Poisson

This tutorial demonstrate a basic work-flow for analyzing FinFET or nano-wire cross-sections using VSP.

First, a rectangular nano-wire cross-section is created with GTS Structure using a parametrized template. Alternatively, templates for triangular or circular cross-section are also available. Self-consistent solution of the effective mass closed boundary Schrödinger carrier model and the Poisson equation are calculated for (100) and (110) substrate orientation. The wave functions are exported to a text-based file

This tutorial was created using GTS Framework Release 2013. Other releases might need adjustments or have slightly different user interfaces.

It is assumed that you are already familiar with GTS Framework and the idea of projects and ToolFolders, as explained in the Getting Started tutorial.
